Description

Maserati 422 | 1990

Highlights:

– Classic Maserati design
– Original Italian provenance
– Rare sedan with low mileage for its age
– Fresh Yokohama tires and upgraded relay box

Our customer offers for sale a 1990 Maserati 422, an example of Maserati’s Biturbo series. This sedan comes with a 2.0L V6 engine, paired with a manual transmission, delivering a distinctive driving experience. The car features original Italian styling, with a leather and Alcantara interior accented by wood details. Technical maintenance has recently been completed, including replacement of oils, filters, timing belt, and other wear-sensitive components. This Maserati includes all necessary documentation since its acquisition and registration in the Netherlands, where it’s currently located.

The car’s exterior shows some scratches and two small rust spots near the trunk and rear door frame, as you can see in the pictures. Its underside appears sound, thanks to prior anti-rust treatments. The interior is largely intact, showing age-related wear but no major issues, except a non-functional rear window switch and non-cooling air conditioning. The odometer has stopped, making the actual mileage around 6,000 km higher than indicated.

Maserati’s 422 model, part of the Biturbo lineup, was introduced to offer a luxury sedan with a sportier edge. Known for its twin-turbo V6 engine, it brought Maserati’s racing spirit to the road. While Maserati produced various iterations, the 422 stands out for its balance of power and refinement. Built primarily for European markets, the car exemplifies Italian craftsmanship and automotive engineering of its time. The 422’s unique character lies in its robust V6, which, despite being complex for its era, provides a thrilling drive. Additionally, the car’s rarity and heritage as part of Maserati’s iconic 1980s and 90s Biturbo series contribute to its charm for collectors.
