Chrysler Special | 1929

We are offering for sale this rare 1929 Chrysler Special. This Chrysler Special is a custom “baquet racer” that was reportedly built in Argentina between the late 1960s and early 1970s on a 1929 Chrysler chassis The car was restored and race prepared between 2015 and 2016. The car has an aluminum body finished in red and is powered by a Dodge L-head inline-six engine with twin carburetors. Additional features include a three-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, Hartford front shock absorbers, rear hydraulic shock absorbers and a six-in-one sidepipe.

Installed in 2018, the Dodge inline-six features side valves, dual Facet downdraft carburetors and a six-into-one exhaust manifold. Additional features include an electric starter and an electric cooling fan.

This Chrysler special is offered with an FIA Historical Passport.

The Chrysler Special’s styling includes a louvered hood with leather straps, Marchal headlights, Brooklands-style windows, a Monza-style fuel cap and a winged radiator cap. The aluminum body was manufactured in Argentina about 50 years ago. The wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs, and a matching spare tire is held on the left side of the hood with leather straps. The interior has tan-coloured bucket seats with four-point belts. The Chrysler’s features include a center shifter, a hood-mounted rearview mirror and an OMP fire extinguisher.
