We are excited to offer for sale this beautiful, rare original 1961 Bedford Dormobile Camper. This classic camper, built in the 1960s in England, has achieved cult status among enthusiasts of classic vans and campers. The Bedford offered here was originally delivered in England in 1961 and was restored by a collector a few years ago. This classic camper comes with camping equipment. It is powered by a 1600cc 4-cylinder petrol engine with a manual transmission.
Finding a Bedford Dormobile Camper is quite challenging. The exterior is finished in a beautiful Bordeaux red with black details and a white pop-up roof that features windows and a ventilation grid. The pop-up roof allows for standing room inside the camper and also includes two additional sleeping spaces via two folding beds. The Bedford features characteristic sliding doors on both the left and right sides.
The interior is in good condition, fully equipped with functional camping gear. The front area has four seats upholstered in red and grey vinyl. These seats can be folded down to create sleeping space for two people. Behind the seats is the living area of the camper, which includes a counter with a sink and storage space. Opposite the sink, there are various storage compartments and a built-in refrigerator with a gas stove.
Dormobile, still in existence today, remains a renowned name in England, akin to Westfalia Wohnmobil in Germany.
